WELCOME TO 6th JAPAN FESTIVAL AT AMA\nThe First Japan Festival at AMA\, coinciding with ‘Vibrant Gujarat Business Summit’\, when Japan became its first time Country Partner\, was organized in January\, 2009\, featuring an Exhibition of Japanese Kites & Tops\, Photo Classics on Fall Colors in Japan and the Screening of Six International Award Winning Films. \nThis inspired the Second Japan Festival at AMA in February\, 2010\, showcasing seven more Award Winning Japanese Feature Films and featuring Four Japanese Art Demonstrations including Ikebana\, Origami\, Sumie Brush Painting and Martial Arts Karate. \nThe Third Japan Festival followed in December\, 2013 highlighting and exquisite Exhibition on Japanese Dolls & Crafts and art demonstrations on Ikebana\, Bonsai\, Origami and Chanoyu – Japanese Tea Ceremony\, along with Seven Award Winning Japanese Film Classics and 16 informative Documentaries on Introduction to Japan. \nThe Fourth Japan Festival at AMA\, organized over a fortnight in January\, 2015\, coincided with the Inauguration of The Japan Information and Study Centre at AMA\, a unique and the first of its kind Centre in the country. It hosted a series of popular academic\, business and cultural events\, including a Photo Exhibition ‘Colourful Japan\,’ ‘Parallel Nippon\,’ Japanese Architecture Exhibition\, Screening of Three International Award Winning Japanese Films\, Demonstrations & Workshops on Ikebana\, Origami\, Shodo\, Karate\, Enka Music\, Japanese Kites and Anime Films and a Novel One Week Lecture Series on Japanese Business Philosophies and Learnings for Value Oriented School Education ‘Inspirations from Japan.’ \nThe Fifth Japan Festival at AMA in February 2016 celebrated with the presentation of unique Japanese Dance and Music Performances by renowned Japanese Artists and a lovely round of Japanese songs sung by a native Japanese Teacher Ms. Tomoko Ashihara and Indian Japanese students. The three-day festival held include Grand Gala Japanese Dance and Music Performances i.e. Violin Performance by Ms. Mika Nishimura and Ms. Tatyana Dichenko on Piano; Shishimai – Japanese Lion Dance Performance by Ms.Kanako Shiratori; Nihonbuyo- Tradition Japanese Dance Performance by Ms. Shiho Hasegawa with Fusion of Indian Classical Dance by Ms. Virakti Shah; Japanese Songs by Ms. Yuki Takeshita and Mr. Kyoji Yamashiro on Piano; programs and workshops on various forms and traditions of Japan including Yukata (Kimono) Japanese Dress Demonstration\, Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy)\, Origami (Paper-craft)\, Ikebana (Flower arrangement)\, Karate (Martial Arts)\, and Japanese Tea Ceremony. Also\, the festival witnessed screening of Five Award Winning Japanese Films. \nAll the Five Festivals\, unfolding Japan in its vibrant colour and splendour and providing a meaningful and fascinating insight into Japanese Art\, Culture\, Values and Life Style\, met with overwhelming response. \nThe Sixth Japan Festival at AMA\, being organized in January\, 2017\, with the joint co-operation of the Embassy of Japan\, Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai\, Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) and the support of the Japan Foundation is one more leap forward in this direction.
